Mark Driscoll to Speak at Doug Wilson’s Conference in Moscow, Idaho.

Many Reformed folks disapproved of GC council member and pastor / doctor John Piper’s having Douglas Wilson speak at the Desiring God conference in the recent past.  This Fall, another GC council member and pastor  is slated to speak at a conference with Douglas Wilson; however, this time the conference is in Moscow, Idaho and sponsored by Douglas Wilson’s church.

  1. I keep forgetting the FV nuances and debate and I always forget why I find it objectionable. However, each time I play a Rob Bell video I am instantly thankful that I am not under his influence.

  2. Scott, I’m not sure what connection you see between FV and Rob Bell. Of course, Douglas Wilson is a well known Federal Visionary. As far as I know, Rob Bell does not have FV sympathies, but then again he doesn’t have orthodox Christian sympathies either. Quite a mixed bag, that Rob Bell.

  3. Bell is a soft target, no?

2+ years ago, Driscoll well-distanced himself at SBTS, putting yardage between himself and McLaren, Bell, & Doug Pagitt. See/Hear @ http://apps.sebts.edu/multimedia/?p=154

But one connection for MD & DW is John Piper, who appears to be slipping.

He’s had at his conferences Driscoll & Wilson (see JP’s rationalization of his inclusion @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2X078_VDjc), and the softest of targets, Rick Warren in 2010. We hope Rob Bell is not next!

Piper & Warren are desiring God at Saddleback this weekend (April 29-30, 2011).

Driscoll calls both Wilson and Rob’t Schuller ‘brother.’ He spoke at Schuller’s Cathedral in 2009.

The gospel is being trashed: Isaiah 59:14.
